Rose Petal Jam

What can I tell you, I’m one of those women that don’t like roses.
I’m a tulip lover … that’s it.

When I saw my mother planting roses in front of the house, despair came over me …  why roses??  They are very beautiful when in bloom, but when they start to shake they become ugly and messy.
But all that changed last summer. When I saw them in blossom, so beautiful and fragrant I picked them. Hi hi hi …. and I made them ​​jam. So I got rid of the mess and got a Fragrant Super Sweet Jam.


  • Rose petals (about 200 gr)
  • About the same amount of sugar
  • Plain water
  • 1 lemon freshly squeezed

 Wash carefully, under running water all rose petals. Remove the white bottom of each petal.

Place the rose petals into a bowl and sprinkle over them a good tablespoon of sugar and the juice of half lemon.


Bruise them well with your fingers until their juice begins to come out. Then cover the bowl with plastic film and start to prepare the syrup.

Get a saucepan and pour in the remaining sugar and water, enough to cover the sugar. Dissolve contents over a low heat until it began to turn into syrup. Then add  lemon slices and leave for another 5 minutes.

Stir the rose petals into the mixture and allow to simmer.

Bring to a boil and continue to boil until rose petals softened and the mixture thickens. Cook and stir until a spoonful dropped onto a cold plate jells and holds its shape.

Pour into clean sterilized jar. Seal tightly and label.
